i just do a surface vac the rest is just water change. makes it real simple taht way.

I use a medium grade inert gravel i got from the LFS. Tank has been set up for 3 months & was cycled. I was testing the water every week and the Nitrite spike has only been present since i did the thorough vacuuming.

Turns out that you were correct that my theory was out. I found one of my Ottos had got stuck in the Java moss coconut cave and snuffed it Got him out and did a big water change. Hopefull things will go back to normal
