 ok my molly gave birth last night, ive left them in the tank and they seem ok, im jst slightly confused about how to go about water changes, i use a gravel vac but i dont want to suck any babies up, sounds daft but their tiny. and suggestions or do you think their likely to stay away from it?

They should stay away from you if you're moving around. Just do a water change and not a gravel vac for the time being. After a couple weeks the fry should be strong enough to swim away from the suction.

they should stay away from the vac i have to do the same but mine just swim away once i start it
thanks! you dont by any chance know wheather i can put treatments in the water with them, as the dad keeps rolling sideways , not sure whether hes just showing off the the female or hes starting up with a swimbladder problem.

I gravel vacc'd with fry on Sunday. All I did is have my fiance watch the bucket for fry (I really stir the gravel when I vacc, so it gets too cloudy to see them on the outside) None came through and all are happy as can be.

Hi,

I also have fry in my tank and I move the gravels a lot making the water cloudy, what I do is I syphon the water into a Bucket, my wife holds a net at the other end of the pipe which is partially submerged in the water, if any fry do get sucked in it is very easy to get them out.
