I have a 20 gallon tank with 20lbs live rock it was up and running but after six months the fish got ick and died before i could save them. I have a choc chip star in there still but i am going to take him back to the lfs. I treated the tank and it is now two months later so i have a couple questions. All of my water parameters are where they need to be so may i add fish now? Also What would be a good cleaning crew ?( right now we have 4 snails and 1 emerald crab, but its the laziest crab ive ever seen.

Any way thanks for the help you have not steered me wrong yet.

sorry i found an answer to my clean up crew question just needed to look a little harder but i stilll dont know if it is ok to had fish yet

After this amount of time, your tank should be clear of the ich organism. However, the bioload was low, so, keep the fish small and don't add more than one for now since you don't want to overload your biological filtration. SH

Thanks for the reply

We were thinking of a bi color blenny, a clown fish (not marroon, but not sure which kind yet), and a six line wrasse do you think that will work are we at are max with those three and if that will not work do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks again

Also when i went to the lfs today I wanted to get 2 blue legged hermits and 2 red but they said if i have snails i can't put crabs in is this true?

Not it's not, in mine I have several hermit crabs in my tank, 2 blue legged, 1 red legged and 1 blue knuckle, and none of them have shown and aggression to the snails I have which are a combination of nassarius, nerite and turbo. Ceriths are supposed to be "at risk" if you have any blue legged hermits, but I have no experience of keeping them together.

In terms of the stocking I think that's about right, but just make sure you add them slowly, a clown now, leave it a month or so and then add another fish. The tank will certainkly be buig enough for the three of them, but not if you add them all at once.

I surprised what you say about the emerald crab btw, mine's a nonstop eating machine!
