Classic cars of the 50s and 60s had unique styling

First car was a 51 Plymouth 4 door coup. My buddy dropped a 383 in it at shop class It was a real party car and built like a tank. Drove it from 67 to 73 then gave it to youngest brother.

Second car a 69 Camero conv. Sold when first daughter was born.

My first car was a 1960 put your feet through the bottom and run like Barney Rubble. I had it til I was 5, when it went to my cousin because I no longer fit in it.

The Lotus Europa gets my top vote. Styling and handling were simply amazing.

My first car was an Opal Kadette. My car was dark blue and I bought used in 1971 for $600.

Opel did a lot more than the Cadet. Here is the Opel GT circa 1968. It is like a small version of a Corvette.

A used 1968 Opel GT in 1971 would have been a lot more money than the $600 I paid for my 1967 standard model. 😳. I was a poor college student paying my own way.

65-72 cars would be very high on my list, We only have some "newer" vehicles currently:

I owned a 1993 lincoln Mark 8. It was fast and very comfortable ride.

I had a 1974 XB Ford Falcon panel van like that. I was going somewhere with a friend who looked at the floor on the passenger side and said "the paint on the floor is bubbling". He stepped on it a bit and part of the floor fell away. He goes "We're in a Flintstone mobile". I got rid of the car shortly after that.

Vehicle preferences seems to track with the cars of our youth. I can appreciate older gems but do key on muscle car era with my '87(s) being an outlier.
First North American production vehicle with a turbo (IIRC) 1962:

this one is older ( Art Deco Era ) my 1938 Nash Lafyette... suicide back doors, 3 speed on the floor, & a Nash Feature... the back seat makes into a bed...
