I have a pair of trimacs that will happily breed like crazy they are both sexed and 4" ish so in about 2 months or so should be producing fry. £25

What size tank have you got, and who are the other inhabitants? Asking for a cichlid is like asking for a car - just any car. A lot of cichlids will kill other tank occupants if you don't mix them properly. And why do you want them to breed? If its to make money, then you need to do alot more research - and you'll never make that much money anyhow. Fish that breed easily are always easily available, and as such cost pennies to buy.

Do a bit more research, or stick a post up in one of the cichlid forums - New World Cichlids are more likely to be up your alley.

No i dont want them just to make money i want them because they are the only fish we havnt got and i got a new set up seperate tank for them.

you will need to reasearch a bit, things like convicts will not make you money as they only need to add water to breed...you better off looking at the smaller varietys as this is what sells....people love the look of vieja/jags etc but prob is not many people are prepared to house a solo fish in a tank which the aggressive south/central american cichlid needs....

Things like dwarf cichlids are a good bet in my oppinion/rainbow cichlids/blue acara/then theres the rarer types if you can find them,,,

It really depends on what size tank you've got - assuming its got no other occupants. Stick a post in new world cichlids with your tank size and ask for recommendations there, rather than buying blindly depending on what people have for offer.
