***Sorry, I don't know the difference between the two cichlid groups so I wasn't sure which one would be better to post in for smaller sized (dwarf) cichlids.
I have a 29 gallon warm tropical fish aquarium with some platys, mollies, ottos, etc. I have a 10 gallon aquarium which these little guys are going in over the next couple of days. I also have 2 goldfish (yes i know 2 goldfish in a warm water aquarium) which are about 3 inches at least now and I got them when I first set up my tank over a year ago. So I was wondering (because I would have to keep the 2 goldfish in the 29 because of their size) if I moved the other tropical fish out of the 29 into the 10 gallon as I was going to do anyways, and just have the 2 goldfish in the 29 gallon, then could I get 1 or 2 other larger fish (3 - 4 inches)? Such as the dwarf cichlids or something, I seen them at my LFS. Any other ideas would be appreciated of the types of fish that could go well with my goldfish. I know the goldfish are in warm water, but I have no other place for them at the moment and I wanted to get some larger fish (3 - 4 inches) for my 29 gallon. So then I would have 2 other fish and my 2 goldfish in a 29 gallon. I know cichlids would not go with my golsfish for sure, but where the goldfish would be so much larger then the cichlids at first, but even as they grew I would only want cichlids that got to a max of 3 or 4 inches, so all of the fish would be around the same size. Any help and ideas here will be greatly appreciated.
