Hi

I don't know what to do.
Water stats
Nitrites - 0
Ammonia - 0
Nitrates - 20
Kh - 10 drops in API Test (don't really understand the how to read the test)
GH - 20 drops in the API Test

I have lost (yesterday) a ps.saulosi, she/he was just hiding in the same place-not eating or moving.
Today i have noticed a socolofi doing the same thing, and i think 1 of my afra's may be aswell.

There are no physical signs and no other symptoms.

Tank is 180 litres and stocks

1 ps.saulosi
2 red coral ps.saulosi
2 idiotropheus sprengerae
3 ps.socolfi
4 cynotilapia afra
2 upside down catfish

Any ideas what the problem could be and what i should do?

Can you right there common names please.

Any signs of flicking and rubbing, erratic swimming, darting, excess mucas.
is there plenty of aeration in the tank.
Do the fish look pale or darker in colour.
Are the fish acting listless and lethagic.
Are the fish resting on onside or laying on the substrate.
Can they maintain there balance in the water.
Look out for when the fish go to the toilet.
Do any fish look skinny or bloated.
What do the gills look like. Do they look pale with excess slime or red and inflamed.

Apart from the spengerae-rusty cichlid, i don't know what the common names ae-sorry.

No flicking or rubbing
Plenty of aeration
Fish look the same
Fish are lethargic
They can maintain their balance
Still not seen the poo yet-they aren't coming up for food
Fish look normal, but as they aren't eating they will be getting skinny
Gills look normal

Went in this morning, both the fish i was worried about have died and most of the rest were at the top of the tank as if they were gasping for air. I have turned the air stones on, but i'm really stuck as to what to do now.
Poo on the fish is normal, 1 of them did have a white poo, but apart from the colour it looked normal

Has any chemicals got into the tank.
have you been decorating or using any household chemicals near the tank.

No signs of erratic swimming or darting, or excess mucas.

I would do a 50% water change ASAP

This is the first precautionary measure you should do when you notice a problem,
changing 50% of the water will not harm the fish but in some circumstances might be just enough to save them,

I agree with dave.

No to all the above
Did a 50% change on friday, will do another. On a positive note the other fish look well. But i'm not taking the risk of losing any more.

I would preform a water change and if no improvement get back to the board.
