Cichlid Identification

i'm not sure of the one in the first picture, but the ones in the second are Neolamprologus brichardi, a cichlid from Lake Tanganyika.

Thank you fluttermoth, and thanks for your knowledge and passion of fish!!

Hoping to hear about that first one from anybody

Agree with fluttermoth on second photo.  As for the first photo, the South American checkerboard cichlid (one of the Crenicara species, not the Dicrossus species) comes to mind but the photo is not clear; any chance of a better photo?

Hi Bryon, I've attached another photo. Two of them can be seen. We saw some sizes varying from 1.5 in - 3+ inches

Thanks for the help

Thanks.  This is not what I thought it might have been.  It is a rift lake cichlid, but my knowledge of these is very limited so I can't say which one.  Someone will know.  B.
