chubby/rubbernose plecs

Just wondering what info there is on these as couldn't find any size type info on planet catfish and there's 1 at the my LFS and they look kind of funky!!

I may take my sailfin back and get a peppermint instead aswell so there's not such a rush to get a much bigger tank for it!!

the chubbys get rather big(and fat)

not a lot is known about them - other than their orange colour when stressed and normal brown/black colour when ok - planetcatfish bave some pics of the colour differences.

bulldog pleco only grow around 6inchs and are way less expensive then a pepermint but hey if you got the money go for the one you like

Rubberlips are lovely, we have 2. They are usually sucking away on the glass quite visible and their fat little noses are so cute!

There's this variant of chubby pleco L56 known as xanto which is very popular now in hong kong and singapore! It is bright yellow in colour as compare to the dark brown chubby pleco.

Yep thats the one, i found the link and was nothing on it.

If it's special or something i can hold you back one, i'm pretty sure there's 2 at at the moment. if you come down though make sure it's on friday, saturday, sunday or monday!! what info do you know on them by the way?

They were quite cheap as it goes.

We have a royal plec i was thinking of but alas i don't have a big enough tank.

we have the Bulldog plecs in another tank.

I'm staff so the peppermint comes in at a nice price for me, apparenty we'ved sold zebra plecs before for 40 quid to customers

OK, managed to find a few more sources of info on these guys:

One site lists them as an L56, but this bears little resemblence to Aqualog who list it as a different species altogether. Apparantly they only grow to about 7", although the planetcatfish pics look bigger.

However, this other site also lists it as an L56 and the data is very similiar to planetcatfish.

Yep thats deffinately the one, I had a look in the aqualog bit and there was a bit in there nearly to the front of the book i think.

I can hold you back one if you want!! there is anotherin the tank but I'ved moved the biggest to a spare for Lady Minion!!

today i took home a nice Pitbull plec and a lovely coloured golden nugget!!

We bought a house yesturday so we will be moving into it in about 6 months time - so we need to limit the size of the fish move...

oh and i got a 5th L129 today as it was all alone and needed a home (and it was a bargin price too)

I'm glad to say that on moving the chubby litle fellow he stayed black so I'm glad i didn't pee him off!!

I'll have pics up of my pitbull and golden nugget plec soon aswell. the golden nugget was really hard to catch
