christmas lights?

i have plenty of blues ones ...so if i used em as a moonlight would it be safe to keep them on all night?

I'm not sure of normal christmas lights are resistant to water. What if they fell in? or if a fish jumped and they get splashed?

I would be highly wary of using indoors christmas tree lights near any water. Exterior ones possibly.

hmmm i think i got the water thing under control ...are there any worries of it overheating and maybe starting a fire? 8-12 hours too long?

well lets see outdoor xmas lights get wet alll the time and are left on day in day out.... u should be fine

I actually used a bit of ropelight on my tanks at my halloween party a few days ago the clear tubing turned white and dulled the light. I'm not sure what the long term effect of I guess the moisture will be?
