Chris' Braceless Zeo Reef

Will do if I remember to charge the battery up to my camera and get around to cleaning the glass of diatoms. :good:

Tank has remained a little cloudy. Ive been using a 200 micron filter sock and hasn't really helped. Hopefully it will settle down soon and clear.

Took a few pictures when the lights first came on and in the evening.

Tank is crystal clear now.

Went to H20 aquatics today though and picked up 3 more SPS. As well as some zeovit bits (food7, zeo zyme and Biomate). Picked up 4x lyretail anthias which are currently in QT.
Pictures arnt the best as still need to get around to cleaning the front which will be done tomorrow.

Any idea's on the type of SPS? I know 2 on the left are a type of acro but not sure which. Jon told me the name of the one on the right but completely forgot what it was.

Also picked up my new frag tank and sump which will be getting fitted next weekend as the baffles were on siliconed in this morning. But really happy with how they turned out.

Thanks
Chris

Sump is 2ft deep. A little bit too big! Just need to work out how to easily get the skimmer in and out which I forgot about when I ordered it. Was more worried about the foot print and the overflow from the frag tank and DT in case of a power cut.

Gave the glass a good clean and took a few pictures came out a lot better than the previous ones. (Think i got carried away with the pictures a little bit)

Im also going to start dosing Food7 2 drops 2x a week, Zeo Zyme (1/4 teaspoon) and 8 drops of Bio Mate every other day.

Ps. The corals will be moving but I want to get a few more before putting them in the positions.

Mate, that looks ace! Some amazing corals and I love the scape, really clean and smart.

I wish I had a tank big enough for anthias, I think they are amazing in a group. Adds real colour to any tank.

Keep the pics coming :good:

Cheers

lol thanks seffie

I'm slowly bringing my Kh upto 7.4. Calcium dropped down to 450 on Friday. Magnesium is still at 1500ppm.

Went to The Reef Shack on Friday and bought 4x SPS and 4 frags. All have responded well and had there polyps out that night.

Frag tank is almost ready now and just need a few pieces of pipework.

I'm getting a lot of rubbish in the tank since I've been dosing the zeozyme and biomate.

Just finished taking a few pictures.

I had to try and to choose a few corals out of 120+ colony's was hard work when they all look so good. All I want now is a few red and blue sps and i can start to put them into there final places.

I finally walked away with the below.

Again I don't know the names so if anyone does please let me know.

There was another 2 but couldn't get a decent picture of them.

Thanks
Chris

your sps looks really nice, i may have to get a few pointers off or you for my pico

lol thanks.

Only been into SPS for a few months before I set this tank up so still learning a few things now.

Finally got round to setting up my frag tank.

It is built into the same system as the main tank. This made keeping parameters and temperature easier. It is feed with an eheim compact 600. I was originally going to use a compact 2000 but think the 600 will be fine. It also has its own little powerhead and it lit with 3x t5's. It get warm in the cabinet with all 3 running so it will need to add a few fans, although I didn't really want to drill the cabinet I think I might need too.

This is how the stand was planned to look like. It has changed a little bit such as the space under the sump is now taken up fully by the sump for holding extra water in a powercut etc.

This is the final outcome with the the frag tank finished with balling containers underneath next to the auto top up.

Frag tank pulled out so there is easy access to the tank. There is only about 3 inch clearance above the tank. My hand/arm was never going to fit though so had to have a way of rolling it out.

cheers seffie.

I tested my phosphate on the 26th and it went down to 0.021462ppm.

Tested it again today and its now saying roughly 0.04ppm. Think its time to buy a proper phosphate test kit. Reason I don't believe this reading is that the colours over the last couple of days have started to come back.

Yesterday I stuck down 50% of the corals (mainly on the RHS Island)

Took a few quick pictures of the tank and a few new corals from the reef shack on Saturday. Sorry about the picture the sun light is abit of a pain and didnt relise how bad the were untill I saved them on the computer.
