I'm looking for standard 48" lights. I have a 48" long tank and I am just looking for standard lights. No plants or anything. Just looking for something that's not too expensive and lights up the tank well. Preferably one with a cheap replacement bulb. My fluorescent lights currently cost about $30 a bulb. Can anyone recommend some? Should I go with 2 fixtures or just 1? Thanks

go to your local hardware or lighting store and buy some daylight globes. They cost a few dollars and look good. Daylight globes have a temperature or Kelvin (K) rating around 5,700K - 6,500K.

I don't think those would fit above the tank. I have a canopy on top of the tank. Are there anything fluorescents that are similar to those?

they are available in fluorescent globes. Just go look for daylight fluoro globes.
