Well I have decied that after extensive reading for the past 2 weeks I am ready to enter the world of SW through a Nano Reef :good: . I have read all the pinned topics, and pretty much have a full understanding on the requirements for this project. I only have one problem, I need to pick out a tank :X . Now my choices are in between a Bio Cube, Nano Cube, and a standard AGA 10 or 15g Tank. I have had those acrylic Eclipse tanks in the past and I thought those things were cheesy. I am also wondering if I buy the Bio or Nano cube, am I limited on options? I am not really trying to save money, I am just looking for the most efficient way to setup a Nano SW tank.

Any Preferences?

Thanks, SandMan.

On my way home from class I stopped by a LFS and ran across a Nano Cube on display, in use  . It looked really great. I also got to check out a Bio-Cube as well. So far I am leaning towards the Nano Cube. Again any suggestions? Is there anything else I would need to buy (besides Salt, LR, LS, and Measuring Instruments)?

Bump. -_-

You'll need to by a set of testers like PH Nitrate Nitrite, calcium, phosphate etc etc aswell (RRP £60 but i got mine of ebay for £30). Depening what comes with the tank you might hve to get a decent set of lights depending if you want to keep corals. You could also get a sump to help with filtration and increase the volume of water.

Okay, yeah I would definately need a testing kit.

The kit almost comes with a miniature sump in the back part of the kit. Correct me if I am wrong.

For those who don't know what a Nano Cube is, here is an image and description of what it is. Click Here

Check out the filtration description. Do you think I would need a power head to have more water circulation?

I've got no experience with them so I cant offer too much advice here but I will say that I know JBJ makes a good product and you'll probably be happy with it :)

Okay well that's good to here :good: !

Does anyone know if the stock filtration system will be adequate for keeping a SW tank with some corals and fish? The guy at the LFS mentioned something about rinsing the bio balls in saltwater once every two weeks?

yeah you'll have to clean out the filter to stop the build up of waste.
the tank water needs to be circulated 15 time an hour so if the filter does that then you should be fine, u could always buy a pump or power head for extra circulation.

i wish i would of bought that tank, but i rushed into it and bought the first tank i saw!

Sweet! Well I guess this tank will probably be the first tank to aid me in the SW world! Now I just got to wait till after Christmas and pay off my lap top :X . I'm excited for a new challenge :p .
