As in the title I wasn't sure where to put this, but I was wondering (And have been for a while) You know chlorine can be removed from tap water by leaving it overnight, can chloramines be removed in the same method? Its not an important question, just one that I would be interested to know the answer to. Thanks Guys :good:

No they cannot, but our filter bacteria can break the chloramine bond and convert the ammonia into nitrite, the left over chlorine then gasses off.

how much chlorine would need to be in the tank for it to be dangerous? if i do a 20% waterchange which contains chlorine in it, would it be dangerous?

~spectrum-sorry for hijacking.

This is not a matter to take chances with. Use a dechlorinator that eliminates chloramine and heavy metals at every water change.

Not really, Think of the dilution, and how long it would take to gas off, it wouldn't be very long, I know of many discus keepers that don't bother with dechlorinator, chlorine isn't as bad as people think.
