ok so right now i have 6 cherries in my 5 gallon tank... and a specialy store should be getting some blue pearls in...

i know they can interbreed....

so my question is what will the offspring be like? a percentage of cherries and Blues? or some kind of "purple" mix?

i read somewhere that the blue colouring of shrimp is supposedly caused by unnatural colouration in the food that the breeders feed them, hence why they go brown again once you buy them. In the wild they are blue because of some food stuff that they would eat (makes me think of flamingo's), but i dont think anyone knows exactly what it is that makes them blue.

Would the young of interbred species of shrimp be sterile?

I've got Neocaridina blue and the blue colour is a stress colour i find.

When they happy their gray and when bagged up they go blue.

I can sell some if their is any interest in them.

Oh ye......

Yes they will cross with cherries not sure what the results would be but nothing of intrest i would think

whoa never seen one of those... thats a beautiful shrimp... blue....0.o
