Cherry Shrimp

Ive got 6 cherry shrimp and about 20 guppy fry.
The shrimp are hiding alot and lost most of their cherry red colour, ive only ever seen 3 of the six and 2 are getting the cherry red colour back.
I am going to get more shrimp cos they are brill, just wondering if all is normal?
also how long untill colour starts showing on the guppy fry?

Well given your tank size I would get 20 more RCS (red cherry shrimp) and ensure it is very well planted. They are clear after the stress of moving however should regain their colour after being in the new tank for a week if not then you are not feeding them or you have all males which don't have a bright colouration just dots and stripes down the sides.

Guppy fry take between 8-10 weeks to colour up and at around the same they are sexable you should seperate the sexes to stop premature breeding occuring which prevents the guppies from reaching their full adult size.

Ah ok thanx will look into 20 more and see if lfs will give me any discount if i buy all at same time lol
Yeah i guessed it might be cos of the stress cos they were all bright coloured in store and i have some special shrimp food that i put in 1/2 times a day only a few granules.

Buy off someone on here if they ask for more then £15. RCS sellers on here will be able to beat a LFS for a large number look in the classified section for offers.
