I have finally decided to set up a Cherry shrimp only tank

I am probably going to go for the Aquaone 320, 28 litre tank

I have obviously been looking up about other peoples tanks but would love some ideas from you guys

I am going to go for sand, but which colour is best?

I want to plant the tank, which ones are best for Shrimp?

I have a 200 litre tank been set up for a year and i have just placed two small internal filters in it, how long before these woul become mature ready for the new tank?

I would appreciate any feedback

Hi Rob!
Congratulations on your new tank!
If you want really bright colored shrimp, I suggest you go for black substrate, maybe eco complete.
Plants will also love this substrate and depending on the type of lightning, you could go with a lot of different types.

Shrimp will really love moss plants, they also like needle leaf type of plants (i.e: cabomba).

cherry shrimp are fantastic

i would use a single, 200l/h filter with some kind of spraybar system

black sand will bring out their colour best

ground moss plants would be nice for them, maybe leave a small clear gravel patch, use a couple of taller plants too

what're the filters you're using?

Thanks for that guys

And Blubble37 I will be using two internal filters with sponges for a start and the aquaone comes with an internal filter too. I have seen internal filters with spray bar outlets which I could possibly use. I could possibly use a small external filter but I am limited for room

if it's just cherries the aquaone's internal should do, if it's cherries and small fish go with a spraybar filter too

It will be just cherries only so thanks for the info Rob

Love the look of your tank Alasse

I haven't got the tank yet but within the next month hopefully

I must admit I prefer the look of the lighter substrate rather than black

What plants have you got in your tank?

Black sand for sure - I got mine at MA at Havant or Fareham - can't remember which.

PUPPPU ;)

Decisions decisions, I quite like the look of the silver and The black

I am actually thinking of using both

I watched a video the other day where the guy done his the same and looked quite good

Finally bought myself an Aquanano 30, reduced from £74 to £52

Going for black sand, my other half thinks it will look better

If she is finally taking notice in me getting ready to set up a tank, i will agree with her lol
