I have four cherry barbs. Three females and one male. One female and the male are fat and fine, but the other two females are all emaciated and unhappy. What do you think could be causing this.

I had a tank was constantly cloudy and the ph stayed a little low. So I started a new tank and eventually transferred all the tetras and barbs to the new tank. Everyone else is doing great but the cherries seem to be suffering a little.

What else have you got in there? Cherry Barbs are prone to being bullied, also, as I have said many times, they are not shoaling fish, and can be aggressive to their own kind, (more normally male v male), could it be that the male is harassing the 2 females?

I had had them with a bunch of different tetras. glow lights, rummy nose, head and tail lights. It is possible that they were being tortured I guess I never noticed it though. I moved them in a tank with two cory cats about a week ago. They are still just hanging around. I'll give them another plant too hide around. The fat female and the male kinda hang out together, I never see him taunt the others.

Do cherry barbs prefer some different water conditions maybe than tetras and such. I think I read something somewhere they like murky slow moving water is that right? If that is so, I would probably need to remove my whisper overflow filter, you think?
