Chemical To Temporarily Dull Fish Senses?.please Don't Slam Me&#33

Most (all) acrylic has a protective sheeting on it to prevent scratching. The last I bought had blue on it. It was almost completely opaque. Not certain if they can cut it while it's still on there or not but I would think they could. Other possibility would be to wrap it in some type background material that the LFS sells.

And if you go plexiglas, I think the sell it tinted but I'm sure more expensive.

One thing you might want to try when approaching the tank, make sure your not being back lit (Meaning a light is on behind you)....My personal opinion is that if your backlit and you walk towards the tank, your silohuette keeps getting larger and larger to the fish in the tank, this could be the cause of the fish freaking out when you get close to the tank...........You could look like a predator to them..........My Jack Dempsey would go nuts if i had a lamp on in the room when i would go near his tank.........It took me months to figure this out and only after i re-arranged my room and moved the lamp to a different location..............I tested this by moving the lamp back and sure enought he started to get freaky again........try it, who knows, they might calm down

Thanks for that, FishingPole...I usually am backlit..Thanks

rrd1952...Yes, I knew that but was a little conserned about the adhesive on that paper backing.
If you, and everyone think it would not contain harmful chemicals that would get into the water during about an hour process...I'll do plexiglass with the paper on.

WOULD IT, PLEASE???
(Anyone?)

Does ANYBODY have an answer to my question about if the adhesive holding the paper to plexiglass would be chemically harmful to my fish, or not...Please??

I doubt that anyone would be able to answer that one. It's something that wouldn't come up except in odd circumstances. As I mentioned, earlier, you could wrap the divider with a piece of the tank backing and tape in place. It should stay in place for no longer than you will be using it.
