Go back to poundland, kids arty farty aisle, PVA glue. You can have your own 'art attack' and squidge around all the edges, gently wipe off. Will leave enough glue in the crack to provide you with some protection, but this will need repeated in future as walking/cleaning etc will remove the pva.
