As someone how spends time in chat... the forums are more informative.  Chat is just that... idle chat.

In which case, you qualify your response by saying "I think I'm right in saying...." or "but a more experienced person may correct me", or "Correct me if I'm wrong" You will soon learn to have confidence in your advice.

You can also look in on the "Member's journals", etc. and just comment on what you think of their tank (usually complementary posts are more appreciated, but a well framed critique is also welcomed by most).

yeah...i tend to end up being right in the advice....i just dont want to make an ass of myself.

Even if your advice may not be perfect, members won't take the mick, it's a learning curve after all.
