i'm expecting about 10", looking at them. but as you say im not sure yet.

my friend has 3, 1 male and 2 females.

i have 1 of the females, about 6" or just under, good thing is once he has hopefully paired one of the females with the male, i get to have the other female for good

I actually think this fish isn't a bleheri, but that it is actually a Channa sp. assam.

A good shot of the tail will confirm. pictures are a little fuzzy

Yeah, I'll try tomorrow. The tail fin has none of the markings you'd expect from bleheri, but the edging which would make it assam right?

Quick quetion, though. What kind of plastic tank do you have it in? I'm looking into putting a group of juvie geophagus into a rubbermaid (Don't know if you have that brand over there) but am a bit hesitant because I'm unsure of what the effects on the fish could be.

I'm not sure on the type of plastic, I'm pretty sure it's safe as I used it to raise a sajica spawn in.

Anything food grade will be fine, other things you'll need to be a little more wary.

I am the friend. I keep loads of stuff. I have been slacking with Snakeheads lately. I have a possible pair of Aurantimaculata. some Assams, the Ornatipinnis, a big Obscura we call Snapper. plus some other nasties.

I would agree the photo looks like Assam to me. how big is currently.

I really like aurantimaculata, they are very nice looking fish. Sounds like a good little collect you have.

I'd say the assam is 3-4".

At 3" to 4" thats an Assam.

They are great little snakeheads. I have four. unfortunately mine have all turned out be males. When Kewskill's are a little larger I am hoping to do some sort of trade
