Your Oscar will need a large tank in time, bigger than 92gal anyway as they can grow to 18"

other suggestions
Synodontis, Large plecs, eels, knifefish, silver dollars, red hooks, african pikes

75g's is the recommended minimum for an O girls won't get over 14" and it's not massivley common for boys to get over 16", chances of him actually obtaining 18" are really quite slim, although if he did get to that size he would need a larger tank. at 14/16" 92 gals is fine

was thinking some companions for my syno as they prefer groups

like the look of those red hooks, kind of SDish but a bit more interesting! I'll look into them anyway thanks :good:

I think you just convinced me of getting an oscar for my 120gal

and I'll prob get another syno this weekend :)

yeah red hooks dont tend to get manky like silver dollars do when older :good:

its ok, I want get a small one and have it grow up with the other fish so it knows they aint food :) and its nice to watch them grow, but thanks

that is true, I want to get rid of a small clownnifefish, had him for a while now, he didnt even have the proper marking when I got him, he was a little fry back then, but I think he will take up too much room in the tank, and for an inactive fish its a waste, even more so coz it hides all the time, so I need to get rid of him, muight give him to a not-so-lfs or some thing :(

yup, way i see it though if i've bought the fish in the first place therefore i have the responsibility to provide it with a suitable home for the rest of it's life. I won't just take him to an lfs as it's unlikely they'll sell it quickly and he'll be stuck in a small tank for months waiting to sell. So I'll only part with him if I know he's going to a good home with someone with a big enough tank who knows what they're doing. Don't want money for him, he only cost me £3 in the first place, just important to see that he's happy and well cared for

so basically i'll probably end up keeping him

hmmm just looking at red hooks, sizes range from 4-10"?? what's realistic?

I dont know, I've not really looked into them, it was a fish that someone suggested for me, but I wasnt taken by them, I would go with the 10" though.
The closest I have come to them is using their name for a development project for a comp' I entered last year lol
