just saw a channa fish at my local breeder i learned the name on the forum i just had a few questions

1) doesn't that fish require aeration????

2) the pics i saw online were all colorful in stuff it was the same fish lookwise but had no color plain silver it was

3) what does it eat??? it is predatory so will i have to put in feeders everyday???

What channa was it? There are hundreds of channa (snakehead) species ranging from 5" to 35"+

As for your first question isn't it a little silly? surely all fish need aeration? although channa are air breathers if thats what you mean.

with regard to colouration it seems you don't know what tpye of fish you were looking at so I don't know what you were comparing it too.

It will probably acclimatise fine to eating pellets and pretty much anything else offered

Some snakeheads are found in swamp type conditions so not all in places with lots of aereation (spelling?)

lots of aeration is different to aeration though, the first question was basicly, Do fish require air? and whether they breath through their gills or through a labyrinth they all need air in some form.

NOPE WHAT I MEANT IS DO THEY REQUIRE A AIRSTONE LIKE THE NON-LABYRINTH FISHES DO

WELL BASICLY I IDN'T KNOW IT WAS A LABYRINTH FISH SO :p

No species requires extra airstones if you have sufficient filtration.

Hmm dificult to say what it is, however being of a silver coloration leads me towards channa microplete, maybe straita, i would advising staying away unless you know 100% what your getting, alot get palmed of as red snakeheads which are one of the biggest, even then it could be a silver arowana, if you not up on your fishies....
There are channa which stay small but you will need to ensure thats what your getting.,
