Changing To A New Filter

I'm thinking of changing from a Fluval 305 to a compatible Eheim Filter.

How do I manage the change in terms of cycling and creating a new fully cycled Filter?

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Can't you just swap the filter media over from the old to the new? Are they similar enough?

All yu really need to keep are the bio balls. and the fine floss. The rest can be new.
