I have been having some trouble with my tank and Staghorn algae, which I think I have narrowed down to being caused by poor circulation.

The tank I have is an Aquaone510 (60 Litre) with pressurised fire extinguisher CO2 and 50 Watts of lighting. Pics can be seen here: http://speedingorange.com/2011/03/my-planted-aquarium/

I have just bought an Eheim Ecco Pro 130 Filter, and am expecting it in the next few days. The standard inlet and outlet are ugly as sin and I will want to change them asap.

What are peoples opinions on these : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aquarium-Inflow-Outflow-Glass-Lily-Filter-Pipe-13mm-M-/180498063414?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0685e036

They look good and the other stuff I have had from the same outlet in the past has been good.

When it comes to switching filters as far as I can see I have three options:
1) Run both filters together for a few weeks ( I think this may be impossible due to space constraints)
2) Put the old medium into the ecco? (will it fit) then run it up straight away on its own.
3) run the ecco outlet over the old filter medium before washing it back into the tank? (should be possible due to the overhead filter design of my tank)

Anyone with any other suggestions please let me know!

I have a lot of cherry shrimp breeding like crazy, I expect a few to get sucked up (not sure how wide those slits in the inlet are?) can anyone tell me if the Eheim Ecco Pro will kill anything that enters it? or is there a passage to the base of the filter where any accidental occupants can survive?

Also I need to look at inlet and outlet positioning? any tips?

Also does anyone have any experience of these
