Changing Stock

I have a 23g tank, thinking of getting a pair of convicts and a red tail shark. Anything else anyone recommends adding along with these?

Would cherry shrimp be ok to go in with these also?

I have already read up on the red tail shark and this is what it said: Tank:

The aquarium tank recommended to keep the red-tail shark is at least 20-gallons.

They are really too territorial to keep with any other fish in anything less than a 4 foot tank... And you do know that those places suck and never give out good advice

Since when was it against the rules? Its a suggestion of where to find another source/opinion on the matter, sure we can all tell him to only get one for a tank of 36"-48" long minimum but having an actual website besides a forum can work just as well...

If posting links to aquarium fish profiles is not allowed on here, i would have been banned a long time ago...

I'm not sure if it was that specific website, but there are som websites that give out bad info that you aren't suppose to post. Like the stocking website. So I'm not 100% sure but I know that I've heard that more than once but eh, I'm not like a mod so what would I know. You can post that link again if you want to As I'm not one hundred percent sure. Sights like ##150###, your not supposed to link on here.

Yeah im not fighting you about anything, its just a link to lead from a general question, to a specific website that may answer the question better than we can explain...but if im wrong its all good, just let me know i guess....or delete my comment, its all good!

Really would suggest only a 36" at absolute minimum, their an active territorial species, and trust me, my brother kept one in a 20 gallon when he was a novice....it didn't end well for the shark.. (er i mean big minnow)

* edit: looks like i was a tad late....you could go lowend brackish water and have an awesome yet cute beast, otherwise known as a figure eight puffer.

Chances are one of them will munch on my snails lol, maybe stock back up on guppies and some others

er didnt know you had snails...lol yeah it would be the end of them if you did go the puffer route....

Bolivian rams with maybe some guppies or some tetras/rasboras are always recommended....usually most people like to recommend the school of small tetras/boras/etc and a pair of dwarf cichlids, seems to be popular.

Sounds good, i already have 4 guppies in there i think there all female, tho i been trying to work out weather the deformed one is male lol

Is your 20g one of the "high" tanks or a "long tank" ...lol basically what are the dimensions?
