Changing Gravel To Sand...!

I turn my filter off when I do a water change anyway as the water level drops below the filter inlet. So I just left the filter off for an hour after I'd finished to let the bits settle. My water was still a bit cloudy after the change but it slowly clears!

of course **slaps forehead** what a silly girl...haha  i forgot the water level will be lower, so turn filter off....thanks...im just looking into some bogwood too....:good:

Bogwood looks awesom!

The only thing I would report is that last time I had bogwood years ago, I soaked it for weeks like you're supposed to to stop the tank water turning brown, which worked no problem! However, the day after I put the wood in, the tank water started to stink! I never understood why but I'm sure it was because of the wood, too much of a coincidence not to be!!

I dont know if its just me who has had this problem but from then on I've stuck to rocks and dense planting to create to cover for fishes... still looks fairly natural to me aswell.

My tank looks crud! Ive got 2 fake plants,a pirate wreck and a rock bridge thing, oh n gravel.... Id like, bogwood, big pebbles sand(light) and lots of tall plants at the back......sighhhhhhhs
