Changing From Internal To External Filter?

I have an inline heater and I think it's fantastic, gives me a totally uncluttered tank

Edit: and they aren't that much more expensive than a quality in-tank one.

This one ok for a 160L?

Choose your filter first because you have to get the heater that fits the pipes on your filter. So I've got a TetraTec EX1200 the Hydor that fits it is the 300W one.

I've got a Fluval 206 for a 120L tank. The flow is fantastic and I do a thorough maintenance check on it once a month. I've not had any issues with it yet, touch wood. If I had a tank more than 150L then I'd definately go for the 306. Fluval parts are readily available in my LFS, too whereas with Eheim, I'd have to order parts online so if something was to go wrong with my filter, all I'd need to do was to take a 10 minute drive down the road rather than do 75% water changes every 12 hours until the parts were delivered :p These were the biggest buying factors for me: A good flow rate and readily available parts.
My 190l tank came with a Fluval 205, and i also had an old 204 so i run then both. Think they are great, and im looking to move up to a 305 soon.

Yeah I really like Fluval. A lot of people have had minor niggles with them that's put them off but I've not had any issues. I'd rather the extra flow if I was running a bigger tank - just to be safe ;)
