Changing A Sponge On A Sponge Filter.

I agree with all of that, but when it comes to the fish, they take precedence.  And the cory situation I mentioned has never returned, though a similar thing happened in another tank, and I discovered the filter tube was getting clogged.  I have since removed my spraybars on the three canisters, since it is much easier to see water flow from the spigot.
 
I should perhaps also mention that the clogging filter is only the Rena XP3.  Neither of the two Eheims seem to have this problem (one of these had the clogged filter tube, but that is a bit different; I'm afraid I am lax about removing the filter tubing regularly).  Could be the Rena just pulls too much stuff into it and the five pads clog too fast compared to the Eheim.  TTA?
