The change in the weather is always a good time to set up the spawning tank i put them both back in last night but the female was in a large jar this morning before i went to work i let her out and he instantly started building a bubble nest this evening at around seven O'Clock they were spawning pics below sorry about the quality but taken from a distance as not to disturb the spawning..........

YOU CAN HERE SEE THE EGGS PUT IN TO THE BUBBLES

THEY BOTH COLLECT THE EGGS

AND SPIT THEM OUT INTO THE NEST MAKING IT BIGGER
Went in just now and it was all over the female had gone into the plants and he was chasing her if she come out so she is now back in her main tank and feeding, he is now tending the nest sorry no pics battery run out will get some tomorrow of the full nest must be 200 eggs

thats cool... i hope mine breed soon
is this your fishies 1st spawn?

:fish:

:kewlpics: Really Nice spawn photos (hope you don't mind if I sneak them off for my own uses ;) ... Betta interests you wierdos... you were thinking it!).

ANYWAY... Good Luck with the fry - this is definetly the best part of the job :)

I always open my windows & pair up the fish during the rain-days ... works better then anything else :) Even better then my own tropical rain creation (trying to spawn corydoras... long story...)

  i love you yes this is the first spawn for the plakat pair but i had a spawn on the 05/03/2004 and one on the 30/03/2004 from my blue crowntail, have young growing fast from theses unfortunately he spawned in the my main tank which is partitioned so had to take the eggs out so batch is low only about 10_12 fish from both but i don't mind that as it was unexpected were this was planned........and nes if you want to use the photo`s go ahead no problem sorry that they were not clearer as didn't want to get to close the the spawning.........

holy crap.... did they lay the eggs on the underside of a turned over pot?

thats cool lookin... good luck with the babies... i got a few plakats of my own... maybe i shud show them your pics so they kno what to do lol
edit.,.
nevermind i can see now.. its 1/2 of a plastic pot... 4:00 am so it took me 2 looks to figure it out lol

Yes a 3inch plastic flowerpot cut in half, i found that polystyrene cups some Babbie's stuck to it when the bubbles burst and they couldn't get off this don't happen with the plastic your OK my eyes don't focus at that time in the morning either.............

Great Idea!

I hate using un-naturally looking things iun my spawn tanks, though I've got a stuborn male who has been trying to build around the heater... and thermometer... and pretty much everything else (first timmer... can you tell? :)). So I'll pop out to the store & give the pot a shot then ;)
