what is the smallest catfish i could get that dont get big but still stays healthy. no more then...3-5inchs please

That depends on what you want. Are you wanting a fish that will eat algae or something for the bottom of the tank. There are loads of fish that stay under 5 inches. Have a look on www.planetcatfish.com in the catelogue for ideas.
