I having received some advice on here on what catfish to get for my mbuna setup. (65 galls)
I was told some type of pictus (I think) so I went to the petstore yesterday and picked up three
pictus catfish. After further research, learned that it was probably not the pictus catfish as everything
in the pictus family is from south america. I remember the one I was recommended was from lake Tang.
Any idea on how well 3 pictuses will survive w/ mbuna??

Tank Size: 65 gallons
# of fish: 8-9 @ 1-2" 25 fry @ under 0.5'"
Agression level: Very high but has seemed to calm down after fry were released into tank

When I let the pictus out of the bag I bought them in they were very active. Since then they have moved to the bottom more and layed around and swam around a little bit. A few minutes after I let them out of the bag the cichlids started surrounding them but this has stopped.
I am feeding them sinking bottom feeder tablets.

I wouldn't keep Pictus with Mbuna mainly because of PH and diet requirements. Pictus tend to like a more meaty diet and thrive better with a PH of 7 or below. They also like plenty of swimming room and with rockwork, this may prove a bit difficult.
Why not try one of the Synodontis family like Multipunctatus or Petricola?
