guys i know the pic is pants but i quickly snapped it on my phone before he shot off and ran back into the drain pipe,

can anyone please tell me what jkind of catfish he is

possibly a synodontis congica or synodontis notata

looking at the pictures on google it looks like the first one you mentioned,

are they ok with mbuna cichlids etc, and does anyone have any info on them, mine doesnt really do much in the day apart from the odd poking his nose out of the drain pipe when he smells food, hes growing quite quick tho,

yes they're fine with african cichlids; they're african catfish

Something about the pattern screams hybrid, not to mention that congica is reasonably uncommon. If you're right and it is congica, that would be sweet.

i would nt be able say weather its a hybrid or wild, ill try get some more better pictures of it when its feeding,

i wasnt too fussed if it wa sa hubrid i just wanted a few fish that would mess up my sand and keep churning it over and search for scarp food etc,

cheers dude, he is a lovely one, comes out every now and again at the smell of food but thats it, he is growing quite quick tho,

hopefully when i get my moponlight lights in he will come out more often cus he is a lovely one,
