Catfish Id ~ Found~ Need Diagnosis Help

He's hiding under the driftwood, it was just by sheer luck that he came out last night and I got those pictures....I'm keeping my eye out in case he comes out again.

Called my local Conservation agent...He was able to ID the fish for me. It's a native Missouri fish Noturus exilis , also known as a Slender Madtom.

Now I just need to figure out what the bumps are....

Its fins look pretty chewed up so i would guess that the marks are scarring from attacks by another fish, some clean water and good food should have it cleared up in no time.

Remember that its a cold water fish so it wont handle tropical temperatures and needs a lot of water movement to keep the oxygen levels high.

I would think that the tank is pretty well oxygenated. Though, I have no way to check the O levels, between the filter drop-off and air-pump it seems like it would be pretty well done.
The tank has decent currents in it from the filter...But would getting a powerhead be necessary at all?

My mum bought this fish... I don't know what it is. Store told her that he was full grown and won't get any bigger. I highly doubt that.

He has these raised bumps on him...I don't know if it's some sort of infection, or what the hell it is. Does anyone know what they are?

Try contacting a local nature center or aquarium to see if they will take him. He will probably have the best chance there.
