Hi,

Just wondering whether I am worrying over nothing. Have been watching the fish tonight and noticed 1 of the 3 peppered corydoras flicks maybe once in an hour. Sometimes they just flick when they touch plants as they dont like objects touching them but this one catfish just now and again flicks against the sand.

There are no white spots on fins or body/gills. none of the fish which include guppies, rummy nosed tetras and the other peppered corydoras show any symptoms.

PH 6.7
KH 5dch
Nitrate 10ppm
GH 15dch
ammonia 0ppm
nitrite 0ppm

tank has been running for about 6 weeks and has completed a fish cycle and the fish were introduced last weekend.

Mine do it nothing to worry for at the moment and corys are not prone to whitespot, more bacterial problems than parasites.

Thats what i had read regarding bacterial problems with catfish. I will keep an eye on her and leave off panic buying medication.

Thanks Wilder for the advice and quick reply.

one other thing you may be able to help with, do most medications damage the beneficial bacteria in filters? I have been out of the hobby for 10 years and wondered if medications had improved?

thanks again.
