It's time once again for the All-Aquarium Catfish Convention in Laurel, Maryland. I missed the last one and am very excited about attending this year. :yahoo:

http://www.pvas.com/catfish/schedule.htm

Looks like fun, doesn't it? The best part will be getting to meet some people who I've only talked to online. Ian Fuller (Coryman) will speak about corys, and I'm especially looking forward to that. Coryologist (Frank) will be there, I know, and so will another member of TFF, garraty. You never know who else I'll get to meet too.

With a little luck, I might get to post some of my awful pictures; with a little more luck, Coryologist might post some of his really good ones. I'm going to ask him to do us that favor.

I'll be leaving for the convention Thursday and probably won't get to post again until I arrive home Sunday night. I'm sorry if I leave anyone without a response to a thread I've been posting on, but will check the forum out as soon as I'm back.

Is anyone else going?

Hi Roxy,

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I will not be there as I have just gotten in a shipment of many
rare species that I will need to attend to as I don't want to be leaving them unattended for
their first few days here !

Best Regards,
Bryan

Awwww.......... :/

I'm disappointed to hear you won't be coming, Betterbettas. You are one of the people I was really hoping to meet.

Please let us know more about your new shipment of corys when you get a chance. I'm sure there will be of interest to our members. :D

Hi Roxy,

Yes, I will be there looking to meet many people that I have been speaking with on-line, for years. Should be fun, but for me, getting to finally hear Ian give his talks, will be the highpoint, along with meeting you, of course. :p

Have a safe trip and I'll be looking for you. - Frank/Coryologist

Thanks Frank :D

To everyone else.......please ignore that 2 after Coryologist's name. We're having a little technical difficulty here, but William is working on it.

He's Coryologist, without the 2.

I too am disappointed I won't be able to make it but with the new site getting ready to launch and all of the other things going on it's best I stay here.

Well for starters we have C.weitzmani, C. atropersonatus, C. vittatus, C121, C042, and some of the largest Corydoas you've ever seen in C. Super Arcuatus & C. robustus ! Then got some Habrosus, Pygmaeus, Sodalis, and a few others that I haven't gotten pics of yet that are quite rare and incredible !

It's working, but all my PM's are gone. They are under #2. :-(

haven't seen that signature in a very long time. That needs a major update! - F.

I'm going it is only 10-15 min away drive
My first time and it should be interesting and meeting people.

See you soon

WOW! nice cories!

C. Super Arcautaus < is that spelt right? I did a quick google to look up some info on them and cant find anything. When its on the ruler it looks very blue? and when in the shot above its almost a pink/cream colour? The bottom looks like he is made of rubber lol

I wanted to go to the catfish Convention in the UK, I think it was earlier this month, but it would have cost me nearly three times the price I would have paid for enterance and accommodation, just to get there :-(

Should be spelled C. Super Arcuatus. They are more pink/cream in water.

ah, so it the "super" Arcuatus a size morph, like giant bettas? or does yours just happen to be HUGE :D

hehe just done another search, I thought they looked familiar... the blue colour threw me, they are skunk cories.
I am not vert good with all the proper names :) still nice fish

These are a species unto themselves. They can only be found in the Rio Humaita basin in Brazil.
