Ok so eventually I want to turn my 35L into a carpeted tank. The length is 50cm and it's about 25cm in width.

I have hagen black gravel it's reasonably big.

I was just wondering which plant would suit this plant, and where I'd get it from.

They but with them I'd need something for it to grow on, like slate. I'd need like 1250cm2 of slate.

What about dwarf hair grass.

Dwarf hairgrass should be fine but I'm inclined to believe it needs allot of light to carpet effectively. It is also quiet a slow grower so patience will be needed before it becomes really nice.

probably rubbish, that's VERY low light over such a small tank. It'd grow mosses most likely pelia too, but no doubt it'd become large and ugly.
Riccia would perish and no doubt would glosso hc and any other carpeting plant.

Look on the tropica website, and post up which ever plants you think will work.
ultimately though I think upping the light will be the only option.

I suppose I better just forget it, maybe I could grow lots of plants on bogwood and slate, java fern etc.
Id scratch java fern too they get far too big for a 9 gallon.

read about lighting.

go for mosses then.
I wasn't telling you to up your lighting simply giving you something to read so you understand what your up against.
minimum light threshold it's called it's why 1.5 watts per gallon on 100gallon tanks is allot of light yet 1.5 watts over 10 is anything but.
