You know sometimes you watch players abroad and think, WOW! What a talent and always follow their progeress (well, i'm like that with Carlos Tevez) I started watching him when he was just 17, and I was over the moon when he appeared in the Argentina squad in the World Cup and i've said that he will be a real star when he matures, and he's moved to West Ham! :/ I mean i'm over the moon that he's in England and I believe it's only a loan deal but West Ham?? He will certainly be appearing in my Fantasty Football team as soon as he appears on the site! I really think he is a talent!

EDIT - Just read it's a full transfer, not a loan deal!

It just said on the news their that tevez and masharano (excuse de spelling) are signed on permanent deals. I gotta agree with ya on him being a class act, I saw him a few times with Boca Juniors a couple of years ago and said to myself, he's goona make it big. Im a gunner on the other hand and am absolutely thrilled to to see Cole go.

I'm truly amazed with this one, I mean ManUre, Arsenal, Chelski, Milan and Barca were after him and he's gone to West Ham  and Mascherano too

I know it's been said by West Ham that they haven't bought them to sell them on and make a profit next year, but I do wonder

There was speculation that Abramovich had some "influence" (denied by Chelski) in the deal, makes you wonder if West Ham have paid a smaller fee like £10m to get them over here and then Chelski end up buying them for say £20m next season :shifty: IF they do well in the prem  Apparently they both cost Corinthians £15m each when they bought them and I can't see that they were devalued after the world cup  and can West Ham really afford £30m+

Still good luck to em :good: West Ham are a great feeder club and the extra talent there can only rub off onto the next crop of players that they'll have to sell to Chelski, ManUre and hopefully Liverpool

Rumor has it that West Ham are about to be bought by a mystery Eastern European business man who is also behind the recent signings.

Yeah an Iranian bloke who owns MSI the company that used to own Tevez and Mascherano's previous contracts :shifty:

Apparently he tried to buy a stake last year too

It gets more interesting

Apparently, they paid nothing for them  and although they are registered as being West Ham players, there is a clause in their contract that says MSI can sell them at any price next year and they take all the profit.

They only have to pay half their wages £1m a year for Mascherano and £1.5m for Tevez (£20,000 & £30,000 per week) which whilst its a lot of money, it's not that much compared to another top striker like Rooney, Shevchenko etc Even Ashley Cole is on about £80,000 - £100,000 per week depending on where you read.

:) What a call, Mascherano at Liverpool in February and Tevez probably joining him this summer now he's got used to the premiership :good: If he doesn't come to Liverpool, he'll be at another top european club next season anyway.

South america is the place 2 find new talent
I follow a few teams in their leagues and u notice some real stars
People like Fernando gago, gonzalo higuain - both real madrid, matias Fernandez - valencia and Sebastian Leto - liverpool (hu is meant 2 be 2nd best young player in the world) have all now moved 2 Europe where the big money is.
Theres players like humberto suazo, Rodrigo palacio, Nicolas millan, neri cardozo hu I think will all end up in European football hopefully English, there r more players but I cant be bothered 2 write them all down
I recommend ditching English football and teams like Liverpool (arfie) and follow south american football
if u must no i actually support leeds united

I could never ditch supporting my club

There is one flaw in your theory, you may well see some great talent much earlier, but waiting until they arrive here (Europe) means we get to see the very best of them once their talent has been fulfilled. It's OK them being very talented in a poor quality team/league, but another altogether being a talent in a good side playing in a good league.

So no offence, but I'll stick to the major european leagues, though if more south american matches get broadcast, I may watch a match or 2.

Fair point,
Iv tried listening 2 boca juniors vs. students on internet radio it was the worst time wasted in my life
It didn’t help it was in Spanish but the commentators get excited and shout every 2 minutes so im thinking wow this games 4-0 and its only been playing 2 minutes only 2 find out it was 2-0 (to boca).
They do show highlights on channel 5 about 4am but id rather be in bed
Maybe I should start a campaign 2 get south american games shown on tv

The few matches that i've seen, mostly highlights on Transword sport or on CH5 really late(early), have been full of events. Either cracking goals, unbeliavable dives or some gruesome challenges. I'd like to see more on TV, then again i'd watch sport from when I woke up till I went to bed in all honesty. :)

haha good thinking i wouldnt mind watching it all day
south american football is far more entertaining im my opinion and there is rarely (if ever) a 0-0
its FULL of goals
I LOVE IT!
