Caridina japonica

:X algae treatments often contain copper (ithink)

...highly poisenous to invertabretes - get them out!

As one of the other mods said the other day (GL/Dragon)

...'they haven't got the backbone for it' -_-  lol sry

:)

O btw,

personally I'm not a big fan of algae treatments :/

....the reason is that they don't address the cause of the algae in the first place and can possably make things worse (theres an influx of decaying matter - the algae - which puts load on the filter, more nitrates) - though not too sure about that

I think some algae can look OK - I never clean back and side glass. When I had my algae problem I tried the natural methods, split lighting period (4hr min gap), ottos, shrimps and sae's and now things seem quite balanced

Imho try other methods before resorting to chemical fixes (they rarely last the long term :/ )

:)

O one more thing,

if you cann't remove them (shrimps) then you could run some carbon - don't know if it will remove the algae treatment - but it won't hurt either :/

:)

hmmm

thanks for the advice. a conbination of shock and chemicals maybe have harmed the weakest.

wont carbon take out the plant food from the water also though?
