CaribSea Arag alive??

hi all, im new to this forum ) im just starting up a reef tank and wondered if caribsea arag alive was any good? if not what would you recommend? thanx

It's great. Pre-cleaned and has beneficial bacteria living in it already.

How much caribsea arag alive should i put in a 38 gal tank?

I put in 2 lbs/gallon in mine.

The average rec is 1 lb/gallon. For a 38, you'd need two 20lb bags for a total of 40 to start. You could also add a few more lbs from a 'live tank' to get the pods, etc. SH

you can save some money, because you only need on bag of the live sand because that will quickly seed the rest of your sand bed. So you can save some $ on getting regular argonite for the rest of the substrate.
