Cardinal Tetras, Size

I just got myself a nice little shoal of ten cardinal tetras. The average size is about 2cm. I believe the adult size is 4cm. Anyone know how long it will take them to reach adult size?

Hi. Do regular water changes, at least weekly, as other fish secrete hormones in to the water which are said to stunt the growth of other tank inhabitants. Also don't overcrowd the tank as that's said to stunt fish too. Depends on what you feed them too I suppose. Would say several months. My cardinals doubled in size in 6 months.
