Just thought i would post to say how excited i am because on tuesday i take delivery of my 2 newest members to my fishy family.
i have just finnished setting up my new 140 uk gal for my new motoro sting ray
and a 60 gal uk for my new wolf fish (Hoplias malabaricus), i have researched the wolf fish and am really looking forward to keeping him.

I am really pleased for you, it is very exciting getting new fish. Then it turns a bit nerve racking trying to get them settled and feeding well.

It is so nice to see someone who has researched the fish they want properly, then provided great tanks for them BEFORE they get the fish.

Hope all goes well, the fish sound like they are going to a good home.

Thats a couple of nice fish that your getting! The wolf fish is one of the fish i have always wanted to keep but dont have the room for a species tank in the flat. Motoros are great stingrays, they eat like pigs and arent as sensative to water parameters as other rays, deffinately the right choice for a first ray.

is it true what i hear that they still have the sting in its tail or is that rubbish just curious before i go touching it? and what would u reccomend keeping with the motoro?

It certainly is true that they can sting and if you are stung you will require immiediet hospital treatment to remove the sting and prevent infection from the bacteria which is on the sting, you will also need to give the scientific name of the fish to the hospital so they know what they are dealing with, i suggest writing details down on a card and keeping it near the tank in case of a accident as you will be in a lot of pain and may not be able to think straight should you be stung.

Read this thread and you will understand a bit more of just how dangerous your new pet could be http://www.predatoryfish.net/ibforums/inde...=68849&hl=stung

good tankmates for rays are anything that is non aggressive and too large to be eaten, large Pimeloid catfish, peaceful Cichlids, and bichirs are all possible choices.

LOL CFC

Just read that thread right through, all 9 pages of it. We need to get Josh on here, he sounds like fun :S

Good luck with your new pets!
I read that link, that poor Josh Dude.
Those rays are Beautiful, but you better be careful.
We don't want another Josh! :D

I sure wish I could have rays.....

ok thanks again i just read that thread i will be sure not to take any sleeping pils before feeding  the reason i asked that question is i also heard fw stingrays in captivity have their tail clipped or something similar but still i cant wait and will post pics he is only small when i get him about 10cms.
