Can't Shut Co2 Off :-(

I just got a pub co2 cylinder to replace the existing jbl bottle but I have turned the valve off on the jbl 500m bottle and there is still co2 coming out into the tank. Any ideas as I daren't unscrew it in case it causes damage to me or the house

Sometimes it takes a while for the pressure in the system to empty, how long ago did you turn it off?

I tuned it off for more than 30 mins ... I have done it now with a pair of grips
