On Sunday when I stocked my 75 gallon I added 3 rubber-lipped plecos. They are currently about 2.5 inches each. I see one pleco each day for a short while (do not know if it is the same one, can't tell. :p I have never seen two or three since the first 1/2 hour. Where could they be? I have looked and looked from every angle. I know they can be shy especially at first, but I'd feel better if I could at least do roll call with them. Any suggestions on finding them?

i know how you feel. when i brought home my bristlenose he was about 1.5 inches and he disapeared for a few days. have you been looking for them during the day or night? try leaving a house light on in the distance just enough so your not in pitch black and turning off your tank lights at night. Put ut and algea wafer and watch. it may take awhile but more then likely they will come out.

I have not looked at the tank once I put the lights out. I will have to do that and see if they come out. One of them is around every now and again, but the other two are nowhere to be found. Did you ever find their hiding places? I feel like I have looked at every inch of the tank.

same happened with my plec - boy can they hide!

I do just as Kittybug says, distant house light on (next room), tank lights off, algae wafers in place, sit patiently.

Hint: keep food and drink to hand, it can take a while

Well, guess I need to get out the camping gear!

I actually saw a second plec today, the third is somewhere. It is amazing how they can hide. One of them is around on and off, but when he is off I cannot find him anywhere.

I will try the lights off, wafer in place, food and drink in place and see if all three will come out at once.

well i would get a camera with night vision and start recording from the moment u turn the lights off they might come out if they think nobody's looking.
lol, yeah if you're in the SAS!!

Why not just turn the lights out in the room and the tank, put some food in and watch for them.

My plecs are still shy unless it's night time or feeding time.
