My local store says they order them but they never arrive, world of water says they keep dying so they stopped selling them and the other local store does not sell them. Been looking for a month now. Anyone know where I could order some online in the UK? Not Trimar, they dont have any.

finsnthings in newton abbot in devon will do mail order, they had some in their brackish section last time i went in. dunno how much post will be, or if they would even post in december. Worth a try though - www.finsandthings.co.uk

Trimar.co.uk now has South American Puffers, don't know if I should settle for them or get Figure Eights. Which of the two do you think are the best?

Figure eights will need a brackish setup, so if you're after something to live in fresh water then get the south americans. If you have a Maidenhead Aquatics near you they usually sell figure eights.

Been going to get Figure Eights for a long time, just cant find them. Got the salt, hydrometer and everything I need for them. But now im thinking I should get get SAP's. Its kind of hard to decide since theres limited photos of puffers on the internet, I've seen some SAP's that look ugly and some cute. Only thing that would put me off about SAP's is the fact that their teeth grow more than any other puffer. I can't decide

ive never kept sap's but think that my figure 8's are really cool fish. They are gonna live a long time, so if figure 8s are what you really want then it may be worth hanging on till a local fish shop has some. Have you tried www.tropicalfishfinder.co.uk too?

which world of water are you talking about?

if its in buckinghamshire, my LFS sells any fish on demand, give them a slip of paper with the scientific name on, and they will have you that fish within 2 weeks

I have an SAP and he's simply amazing, a great fish. I got an SAP on the basis I didnt fancy doing brackish, and he's been a delight every day I've had him (even when he's been sick).

I agree some look hideous in photos, but here is a photo of Archimedes which I think does them justice -

Only thing about SAP's is that you will need to be prepared to trim their teeth if necessary...
