I bought a comet feeder goldfish last week from pets'mart the next day it died, which I'm not that suprized but still a little disapointed because comet goldfish are one of my all time favorite fish. Is there anyway of getting a comet goldfish that will live? What is the best envirment to keep them in to ensure they will live? I have the one in cycling tank which probably wasn't the best thing to do but the ph was good for him/her.

Hello and hi, lilmolly

Unlike most people, only a few actually appreciate the beauty of a good old gold fish(you and me included).

My advice for goldfish is a tank with plants and pals.(other g.fish)

I must agree though, PetSmart has a bad reputation for selling dead fish(if you know what i mean)

By the way, where do you live(general area), because Petsmart is not found in europe, only here in Canada(and maybe the USA, i dont know)
Just asking cause hey, maybe someone comes here that isnt 1000 km away. ;)

petsmart is in the usa as well and they sell funky fish here too lol

I have a problem with petco's fish. they die really fast. and i don't buy from wal-mart anymore they have problems too :D .

try asking a question like this this to make sure the shopkeepers know about their fish. Try walking into a shop and informing them that you have just yesterday set up a 20g tank and would like to purchase 2 tiger oscars and 10 neon tetras to put into it,the shop keeper should tell you that you are mad and explain that oscars cannot live in a 20g and will eat the neons and that it will be a few weeks before you can add any fish,if he/she does not, walk out and never darken their doors again.
P:S Some stores at good at keeping fish, look how healthy the fish colors look.
