Can't Edit.

I posted a topic in the new Freshwater Nano tank section, but I can't edit my original post. I can edit others but not the original.

Any ideas why?

It's on a timer or post counter or something. I think it could be one of 2 things:
1. After a certain amount of topic views posts can't be edited to avoid confusion.
2. After a certain time period editing is disallowed to abpvoid confusion.
How long has it been since you posted and how many views does it have?

I posted it a few hours ago and it has under 30 views.

Settings are gradually being tweaked after the upgrades, but it was put in partly to stop people changing sales details in the classifieds and a few who were rewording posts to change the context of replies.

You could try asking your friendly neighbourhood moderator to edit it for you? Or maybe unlock it, if that's possible.

I can do that? Oh right, well that would be helpful. I didn't want to waste their time that's the only thing.

There's no way to "unlock" a thread once the editing time has passed, but a mod can edit it for you if needed.

It's what we do (well, it's one of the things we do). Part of trying to stop some issues and save ourselves some work we create others and make other work. This work though tends to be simple modifications and changes, rather than repairing messes.

Whenever a post is edited it gets us all thinking " what was the unedited post?". It's annoying. Just post a second time what you meant to say.

Whenever I edit a post, it's because I don't want people to see what I originally wrote. If that annoys you, tough!
