Ok my situation is that I have a toadfish and one hermit crab in a five gallon. Now my question is what is hardier and easier to keep with these a sponge, a star, or a sea urchin? and what do I need to know about these inverts?

I've seen sea urchins, and the LFS says you cant keep them with fish. They are quite hardy, but they'll peirce any fish. I wanted one, but I want my fish to stay healthy :p

and in my research, I have not found any sea star that would be good for my 10 gal, let alone a 5 gal.

I dont know much about sponges, except they can have absolutely no air contact, which is near impossible I hear.

sorry Im not much of help, good luck though!

A star would be the best bet. However I would question keeping a toad fish in a five gallon. An urchin would be out of the question, they grow quite rapidly and be a hazard to the fish in such a small tank. Sponges are a nice addition to a reef tank if you have the right water flow and placement.
