Canned Clams

Can canned clams be used as fish food? Particularly for DPs? They are clam pieces in clam juice... that's what the can says. Thought I could cut them into small pieces and drop them in, but didn't know if that's too much meat for their diet. Also, should I rinse them first?

read the ingriedients (sp) if they contain any presevitives then no

the list of ingredients are as follows:
clams in their natural juices, water, salt, sugar, sodium tripoly-phosphate (to retain natural juices), calcium disodium EDTA (to protect color), NO MSG.

Am I to assume then that this hurt the fish?

I read something earlier recommending frozen clams from the grocery store, or even the fresh ones they sell = > $

I'll have to get some of them then. The canned ones were given to me from someone who got a bunch on sale... they like clam chowder, and figured I could feed some to the fish. Anyway, guess I'll give them back and get some frozen ones.
